Southern rock, blues, and gospel singer and songwriter known for his diverse range of styles within music. He is known for his work with A&M Records and Perpetual Obscurity Records and for his albums "Don't Let the Devil Ride" and "A Long Way from Tupelo".
Prior to music, he was a professional boxer. After winning several middleweight championships, he began performing at clubs where he was eventually discovered by Miles Copeland. After gaining an opening spot for Sting, he signed a recording contract with A&M Records. His debut album Hammer & Nail was released in 1997.
The Mississippi House of Representatives names March 27th, "Paul Thorn Day" in recognition of the consistent support for his home state.
He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin but was raised in Tupelo, Mississippi.
He has toured as an opening act for multiple artists including Jeff Beck, John Prine, and Huey Lewis and the News.
