Paul Reuter

German-born entrepreneur and journalist who founded the their Reuters News Agency.
He worked as a bank clerk, co-founded a Berlin publishing company, and worked for a French news office before founding the Reuters News Agency.
He moved to London in 1851 and housed his newly formed Reuters News Agency at the London Stock Exchange.
His birth name was Israel Beer Josaphat, and he was the German-born son of Betty Sanders and Rabbi Samuel Levi Josaphat. He later converted to the Christian faith, legally changed his name to Paul Reuter, and wed Ida Maria Elizabeth Clementine Magnus.
He was played by actor Edward G. Robinson in the 1940 Warner Brothers film A Dispatch from Reuter's.
