Versatile performer and MTV Networks Europe VJ and producer who became known for his spray-painted Doc Marten boots and cockatoo haircut.
He briefly contemplated a career with the West Midlands Police. Music, however, had a more powerful sway over him and he became a member of rock-ska band, The Reluctant Stereotypes.
His band King was popular during its brief existence, producing the Gold-certified songs "Steps in Time" and "Bitter Sweet," as well as several top ten hits.
His parents were residing in Galway, Ireland when he was born, but they soon relocated to Coventry, England.
His 1987 solo album Joy was produced by musician and songwriter Dan Hartman.
