Hall of Fame halfback, safety and sometimes place kicker for the Green Bay Packers. He was the 1956 Heisman Trophy winner at Notre Dame.
He lettered in basketball, baseball and football at Bishop Benedict Joseph Flaget High School in Louisville.
He retired from the NFL with 3,711 rushing yards and 72 touchdowns.
After divorcing his first wife Patricia Roeder, he remarried in 1979.
Paul Bear Bryant wanted to recruit him for his University of Kentucky football team when he was graduating high school.
