Paul Doguereau
Pianist
Highly regarded musician instrumental in developing Boston's 20th-century music scene. He courted the contributions of patroness Fanny Peabody Mason.
He and composer Maurice Ravel had a long-standing friendship, beginning when he worked with Ravel at Duo-Art recording piano rolls.
He was one of the earliest organizers of the Peabody Mason Piano Competitions and was at one point its President and Artistic Director.
He adopted a son, the famed author, musicologist, and pianist Harrison Slater.
He was listed as a student of Marguerite Long while attending the Paris Conservatory, but said most of the time he was taught by an assistant since Ms. Long was overloaded with students and taxed for time.
