American pilot and World Aerobatics Champion who was inducted into the International Women's Aviation Hall of Fame.
She took her first flying lesson aboard a Cessna 185 aircraft.
She won the Betty Skelton First Lady of Aerobatics award six consecutive times, beginning in 1988.
Her father was a pilot for Japan Airlines, and her sister became a pilot for Continental Airlines.
She and Pancho Barnes were fellow female aviators who both worked as stunt pilots.
