2006 National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee who wrestled collegiately at Oklahoma State University where. He later served as the school's assistant coach until 2006.
He became the first four-time NCAA wrestling champion in the sport's history.
In 2008, he began running and coaching the Arkansas Wrestling Academy. He has produced multiple state champions, national finalists, and All-Americans in the sport.
His brother, Olympic champion wrestler John Smith, became the wrestling head coach at Oklahoma State University.
He joined Ben Peterson in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
