Olympic weightlifter who is recognized for having taken home the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. He was also a member of the European Weightlifting Federation Executive Committee.
He studied physical education at the Zaporizhzhya National University.
He founded a sportswear and accessory brand called Warm Body Cold Mind.
His wife Daria was a guitar instructor.
He and fellow weightlifter Om Yun-chol both competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
