Made up half of the comedy duo called Olsen and Johnson which featured them improvising lyrics to ragtime tunes and exchanging insults. They were also skilled vaudevillians.
He was a graduate of Northwest University and earned a degree in music.
He performed on Broadway starting in 1938 in a show titled Hellzapoppin'.
He married Lillian Olsen sometime in the 1910s and had three children: J.C., Joy, and Moya.
He was part of a comedy duo just like Bud Abbott of Abbott and Costello.
