Noah Haynes Swayne
Supreme Court Justice
Served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1862 to 1881.
He was admitted to the Virginia bar in 1823 and went on to start a private practice in Ohio.
He was one of five justices nominated to the Court by President Abraham Lincoln.
He was the son of Joshua Swayne and Rebecca Smith Swayne.
He was close friends with Justice John McLean.
