Niels Bohr
Physicist
Physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 for his groundbreaking work.
He played professional sports in Denmark with Akademisk Boldklub.
The Bohr model of the atom, which he named after himself, conjectured that energy levels of electrons are discrete, and that they revolve in discrete, stable orbits around the atomic nucleus, akin to planets around the sun.
He got married to Margrethe Norlund in 1912 and had six sons with her, one of which won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1975.
Like Albert Einstein, he was an extremely influential physicist.
