Public defender who competed on Season 37 of Survivor: David vs. Goliath. He was part of the original David tribe, and despite being labeled as somewhat lazy in the beginning of the competition, he went on to become a savvy player, specifically when it came to key voting alliances. His victory made him the ninth winner in Survivor history to win the game while receiving no votes cast against them the entire game.
He grew up in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and since his parents divorced when he was a child, his grandmother helped raised him and his four siblings while they lived with their father. He became the first person in his family to get a Bachelor's Degree in political science when he graduated from the University of Kentucky.
Part of his win was attributed to the impassioned speech he made before the Final Tribal Council explaining how he truly exemplified the underdog spirit of the season.
After his mother's death, he committed to working as a public defender in his hometown in order to enrich his community, with his main focus being on alleviating the opioid epidemic.
