Nicholas Oliver

Lobbyist and activist best known for his campaign against smoking in Rhode Island. He worked for both the American Heart Association and a Massachusetts association of private schools for special needs children.
After attending the University of Hartford, he earned a graduate public affairs degree from the University of Massachusetts.
He fought to raise tobacco taxes in his home state of Rhode Island.
In 2005, he married Emily Catherine Burtt. Over the course of the next five years, the couple welcomed two children.
He worked for a time for then-Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
