Anti-abortion activist. She founded a yearly pro-life event called the March for Life in reaction to the Roe V Wade case, which made abortion legal.
After serving during World War II in the Women's Army Corps, she attended Georgetown University Law School.
Though not raised as a Roman Catholic, she later converted to the faith.
She grew up in Big Spring, Texas and later relocated to Washington, D.C.
Thurgood Marshall was serving as an associate Supreme Court justice during the their Roe V Wade case.
