Country musician who sang "From a Jack to a King," which was released in 1962. He also released singles including "Do What You Do Do Well."
He started writing songs when he was sixteen years old and also joined the United States Marine Corps.
He did not tour very much while working as a singer, due to his terrible stage fright.
He grew up with his family in Meridian, Mississippi.
He wrote Jimmy Newman's song, "A Falling Star."
