He played for the University of Florida from 1982 to 1985, in one freshman game amassing a staggering 197 rushing yards.
With the Bears he had three consecutive 1,000+ rushing-yard seasons, and had 71 career touchdowns.
He was born in Graceville, Florida.
Though not as their as the Bears' other great rusher, Walter Payton, he finished just behind Payton for total franchise rushing yards.
