Naina Yeltsin
Political Wife
Wife of Russia's first president, Boris Yeltsin. She was rarely seen in public and one of her first major public appearances was at her husband's state funeral.
She met her future husband in 1955 at Ural Polytechnic Institute in Sverdlovsk, where both of them were students.
Although she was married to a public figure, she stayed away from the limelight as much as she could.
She and Boris married in 1956. She had daughters, Tatyana and Elena.
Her daughter served as an adviser to Vladimir Putin, whom her husband picked to succeed him.
