From 2004-2008, he played youth soccer for Blacktown City.
In 2009, he played for Australia's under-17 national team.
He was born in Sydney, Australia; his father was from Afghanistan, and his mother was from Nicaragua.
Winger and second striker Mile Sterjovski was his teammate on the Central Coast Mariners.
