Muhammed Zafar Iqbal
Children's Author
A Bangladeshi author of children's literature and science fiction, he is also known for his poetry collection, Asrar-e-Khudi. He received the prestigious Bangla Academy Award in 2004.
After graduating from Dhaka University with a degree in physics, he earned a PhD from the University of Washington.
He taught in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
He married Yasmeen Haque in 1978. He and his wife became parents to two children: Nabil and Yeshim.
His brother, Humayun Ahmed , became a prominent screenwriter and author.
