Second installment in the Indiana Jones franchise that finds the title character searching for a mystical stone as he battles a dangerous cult. It's a prequel to the first film in the series, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). 

Trivia

The film grossed $333 million globally and received an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. It was followed in the series by 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
