The Bandit is hired to illegally drive a trailer full of beer across state lines. The job would have gone smoothly were it not for the pesky sheriff hot on his heels. The film was directed by Hal Needham.

The movie was the second highest grossing movie of 1977 behind Star Wars: A New Hope. The film's success led to several sequels being produced.
