A smart aleck alien named Paul has spent a number of years living at the Area 51 facility. He decides he's had enough of Earth and enlists the help of a pair of RV road trippers to make his escape.

Actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost took a road trip across the US to help with ideas for the script. The film was financially successful bringing in $60 million more than the budget.
