He was an assistant to Bert Whitman on Debbie Dean and later moved on to draw for a syndicated newpspaer gag panel known as The Mountain Boys.
He was awarded the National Cartoonists Society Special Features Award on four separate occasions in the 1980s.
He married and had two daughters with a woman named Barbara.
Michael J. Fox stated on The Tonight Show in reply to a question about how he knew he had "made it in show business" by claiming, "When Mort Drucker drew my head."
