Known to international audiences for her role as Justine Moritz in the Emmy-winning American miniseries Frankenstein, Hilmerova is also their in her native Europe for her acclaimed roles in the films Der Lebensborn - Pramen Zivota and Brucio nel Vento.
Her early film and television credits include roles in O Sláve a Tráve (1984) and Omyly Tradicnej Morálky (1989).
After studying adult education at Comenius University and training at Bratislava's Academy of Performing Arts, she began to supplement her screen acting work with performances at the Slovak National Theatre.
Her marriage to dancer Jaroslav Bekr produced a daughter named Zara.
She appeared with Leelee Sobieski in an acclaimed made-for-television film titled Uprising.
