Indian-American singer best known as one half of the electro-rock duo Shaa'ir and Func. She has also served as the host of the Indian music television show The Dewarists and made her acting debut in 2011 with the film Dhobi Ghat.
She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Dulaney High School. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor's degree in music in 2004.
She served as a judge for Rolling Stone's Never Hide Sounds talent contest in 2011.
She is the niece of folk singer Prakash Sharma.
She sang a duet with Vishal Dadlani called "Dooriyan Bhi Hai Zaroori" for the 2010 film Break Ke Baad.
