Mohamed Abdelwahab Abdelfattah
Composer
Contemporary classical music composer and member of Egypt's third generation of classical composers. He was a multidisciplinary artist with a unique approach to his musical work.
He studied at both Helwan University and Cairo Conservatoire. He studied under several notable professors at Cairo, including composition with Gamal Abdel-Rahim, music history with Samha El-Kholy, and harmony with Awatef Abdel Karim.
He premiered his movement, Nine Miniatures for String Quartet, on December 2, 1999, in Rome.
His mother was a club singer in the 1950s.
He and Demis Roussos were both born in Egypt.
