Singer who first came to prominence as the frontwoman for the popular Dominican merengue group Las Chicas del Can. She later embarked on a successful solo career, releasing hit singles like "Tómalo Tú," "Te Propongo," and "La Loba."
She formed Las Chicas del Can in 1983. The group was the first all-girl merengue band ever to come out of the Dominican Republic.
She received the Premios Soberano award for Best Merengue Singer in 2016.
She has children named Diego and Mairym.
She was bandmates with Olga Tañón in Las Chicas del Can.
