Miljenko Jergovic
Poet
A prolific, multi-genre author, he won the Croatian Veselko Tenzera Journalism Award and published such poetic and prose works as Opservatorija Varsava and Sarajevski Marlboro. He received the prestigious K. S. Gjalsk award for his collected short stories.
He received a B.A. in literature from Sarajevo University and went on to work as a Croatian journalist.
His work has been translated into many languages.
He was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia, but he spent a large portion of his life in Zagreb, Croatia.
Like Aleksandar Hemon, Jergovic is a their Bosnian writer.
