Mike Portnoy
Drummer
Heavy metal drummer and vocalist best known for co-founding the band Dream Theater. He announced his departure from the band in 2010. He has won twenty-six awards from Modern Drummer. In 2015, he filled in as a drummer for both Twisted Sister and Adrenaline Mob.
He performed with his first band, Rising Power, while in high school.
He was named the Best Progressive Rock Drummer by Modern Drummer magazine eleven consecutive years, from 1995 to 2006.
He has two children named Melody and Max with his wife Marlene Apuzzo.
He was a featured drummer on Synyster Gates and Avenged Sevenfold's 2010 album Nightmare.
