He hung around Orange Country, California, gravitating towards the punk scene.
An indie documentary called Another State of Mind was made about his band in 1984.
His father kicked him out of the house when he was fifteen. In 1990, he married Christine Marie. He has two sons named Julian and Johnny.
Bob Dylan and Social Distortion both played at Woodstock '99.
