He made his professional debut as an 18-year old, and scored a KO 90-seconds into the bout.
He was a star football player at Eastern Oregon University, and was invited to spring camp with the San Francisco 49ers.
He had two kids with his first wife, but they later divorced. He then became engaged to Stephanie Serna and together they have one child.
He once partook in a fight against Fabricio Werdum.
