Mike Joyce
Drummer
Famous for his work with the British rock band The Smiths, this drummer contributed to numerous Gold and Platinum-certified studio and compilation albums, including The Queen is Dead (1986) and Hatful of Hollow (1984).
Before joining The Smiths, he performed with a Manchester-based band called The Hoax.
In the late 1980s, he collaborated with Irish singer and songwriter Sinead O'Connor.
Born to a family of Irish heritage, he grew up in Manchester, England. His marriage to Christina Riley resulted in children named Francis, Olivia, and Faye.
In the mid 1990s, he won a royalties lawsuit against his one-time Smiths bandmates Morrissey and Johnny Marr and received approximately a million pounds in compensation.
