He played quarterback at Oklahoma State University from 1986 to 1989.
He was a quarterback coach at Baylor and wide receiver coach at Maryland before becoming coach of Oklahoma State.
He had three children with his wife Kristen.
He coached Brandon Weeden at Oklahoma State.
