Mike Greenwell
Baseball Player
Outfielder for the Boston Red Sox in all his 12 seasons who also became the most hated baseball player in Japan.
He was selected by the Red Sox in the third round of the 1982 draft.
He signed with Japan's Hanshin Tigers for close to $2.5 million in 1997, but left the team during spring training citing an injury; he got hurt again soon after and retired playing only a handful of games.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
He would have been the 1988 MVP if not for Jose Canseco's 40-home run, 40-stolen base feat, the first one ever in the history of the Major League.
