Mike Chapman
Music Producer
Influential record producer and songwriter within the British pop music industry; he produced Blondie and The Knack's breakthrough albums. In 2014 he was producing an album with the band Purple Apple.
He was a member of the Downliners Sect and Tangerine Peel, which almost became a hit band; he met his writing co-partner, Nicky Chinn, in 1970.
He and Chinn had several hit singles from 1970 until 1978, with 19 hits scoring in the UK Singles Top 40 Chart between 1973 and 1974, five of which were number one.
His family raised him in Queensland, Australia, and he attended the Anglican Church Grammar School.
He produced albums for Pat Benatar, Rod Stewart, Bow Wow Wow, Material Issue, and Australian Crawl.
