Miguel-Ángel Cárdenas
Pop Artist
Colombian-born Dutch visual artist known for his work in the pop art, new realism, and video art genres. His work was exhibited in the Netherlands, Japan, and Belgium, among other countries.
After studying art at the Escuela de Bellas Artes and architecture at the National University (both in his native Colombia), he attended the Barcelona School of Graphic Arts in Spain.
His artwork was exhibited in 1981 at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
He grew up in Espinal, Colombia. In his late twenties, he settled in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
His works of video art were made possible by the innovation of video art movement founder Nam June Paik.
