American stage actor who received a Tony nomination for his role in the Broadway musical production of It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman.
He attended the University of Denver, where he appeared in college productions of The Crucible, Oedipus Rex, and Faust.
In 1963, he was honored with Obie and Laura D'Annunzio awards for his performance in the Martinique Theater's production of Six Characters in Search of an Audience.
He was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He died at the age of thirty-seven from an overdose of sleeping pills; whether his death was suicide or an accident remains a mystery.
He attended the same college as Ted Shawn.
