He started his journalism career writing for the Akron Beacon Journal in 1993.
He began writing popular sports columns for the Boston Globe and the Chicago Tribune.
He married Oni C. Igartua on July 14, 2007; the couple welcomed their third child in September, 2012.
He authored the top-selling book "Patriot Reign: Bill Belichick, the Coaches, and the Players Who Built a Champion."
