Michael "Michaella" Bates is the first born daughter and second child of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates, the heads of the Bates family, a household of nineteen children. The large family appears on the popular reality series Bringing Up Bates.
She completed EMT training before working on her associates degree at Roane State College.
She has spent several years working as a part time nanny.
She married Brandon Keilen in 2015.
She and her sister, Alyssa, are incredibly close and have been known to text and talk every day.
