Before Arch Enemy, Amott made a name for himself with groups like the legendary death metal band Carcass.
In 2006, he had a guest voice appearance on the Adult Swim show Metalocalypse.
His brother Christopher also joined him in Arch Enemy.
Johnny Marr and The Smiths are among Amott's musical influences.
