She began her vegan diet after an allergic reaction and a steroid treatment left her with chronic headaches, fatigue, and rapid weight loss. It was after a consultation with a holistic doctor that she found a diet that worked for her.
She has released numerous books, including Easy to Be Raw, a vegan cookbook, and You in Bloom, a healthy lifestyle guide.
Her parents have adopted many of her eating habits and her younger brother also became vegan.
She and Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram have both become known for their raw foods lifestyle videos on YouTube.
