He began acting at age six and played Zeke in the TV movie, Welcome to the Jungle Gym.
He made his film debut in A Dennis the Menace Christmas and appeared in the 2009 movie, Like Dandelion Dust.
He has a younger brother named Mason Vale Cotton who is also an actor.
He appeared as young Max in the 2013 science fiction film, Elysium. Matt Damon starred as the older version of Max in the film.
