Jazz bassist who played with many their musicians and is included on a number of records, including releases by The Monkees and The Partridge Family.
From 1951 to 1952, he served in the Korean War.
He founded the bands L.A. Express, Freeway, and Private Reserve.
He was born in Oskaloosa, which is home to two Frank Lloyd Wright houses.
In the 1970s, he played with folk singer Joan Baez.
