5-time NBA All-Star nicknamed The Enforcer, he led the Portland Trail Blazers to an NBA championship in 1977.
He took Marquette University to an NCAA championship appearance in 1974.
The Trail Blazers retired his #20 jersey in 1988.
His son David Lucas played college basketball at Oregon State University.
He was teammates with Hall of Famer Bill Walton, who named his son Luke Walton after Lucas.
