Matt Hollywood
Guitarist
Indie guitarist who founded The Out Crowd and The Brian Jonestown Massacre and later served as frontman for The Rebel Drones. He played on nine studio albums with TBJM between 1993 and 2012.
He played early in his career with the neo-psychedelic band, The Imajinary Friends.
His band, The Out Crowd, co-founded with Stuart Valentine, Elliott Barnes, and Sarah Jane, released its first album, "Go On, Give a Damn," in 2003.
He was born in New York state, and he grew up in Southern California. Later, he settled in Portland, Oregon.
He and guitarist and vocalist, Anton Newcombe, were both founding members of the rock band, The Brian Jonestown Massacre. And though Newcombe was often fighting with bandmates, he and Hollywood kept up their bond.
