First baseman who made his MLB debut in 2012 for the St. Louis Cardinals. He helped lead the Cardinals to the 2013 World Series where they were defeated by the Boston Red Sox in six games. He won his first World Series Championship with the Washington Nationals in 2019.
He was a superb hitter during his college days at Slippery Rock and managed to hit over .300 in the Cardinals' minor league system.
In his first spring training camp with the Cardinals he received the nickname Big City.
He was born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania.
He joined Allen Craig on the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012.
