Masafumi Gotoh
Rock Singer
Best known as a member of the Japanese band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, this indie rock songwriter, singer, and guitarist recorded such solo singles as "Lost" and "Wonderland." A versatile vocalist, he recorded tracks in both lyrical and belting styles.
He became acquainted with his future Asian Kung-Fu Generation bandmates Takahiro Yamada and Kensuke Kita while all three musicians were studying at Kanto Gakuin University in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama, Japan. He graduated from the university with a degree in economics.
He founded a band called Skeletons and created a music label called Only in Dreams.
He was born and raised in Shimada, Japan.
His contemporary and fellow Japanese singer, Ami Onuki, performed with a pop group called PUFFY.
