Martin Fowler
Engineer
Software engineer and author who is known for his advocacy for software development research. In 1999, his third published book, Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code, popularized the practice of code refactoring.
In 1986, he graduated from University College London. Following his college graduation, he worked in software development for the British company Coopers & Lybrand until 1991.
In 2001, he participated, alongside 16 fellow signatories, on the publication of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. In 2013, he has his 8th book, Refactoring: Ruby Edition, published.
He was born and raised in Walsall, England.
He has been a loyal user of Bill Gates' Microsoft technology.
