After earning a bachelor's degree in illustration from Utah State University, he joined the screenwriting team for Disney's 1999 version of Tarzan.
He was nominated for an Annie Award for his voice acting work in Bolt.
He and his six younger siblings grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his forties, he married a French woman named Morgane.
He and Bill Farmer both had voice acting careers with Disney.
