Musician, composer, and lead singer of the 1980s new wave band Devo who was awarded the 2004 Richard Kirk Award from the BMI Film and TV Awards.
He met his bandmates as an art student at Kent State University.
He has provided music for shows like Rugrats, Santo Bugito, and Clifford the Big Red Dog, as well as for video games like the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
His second wife is Anita Greenspan; they have two adopted daughters from China named Mai Li and Hui Hui.
He composed the music for Big Love before being replaced by David Byrne.
